As our Glasgow Riverside Apartment is located on Glasgow Harbour
this small guide about Glasgow Harbour Tourist
attraction is here to give you some ideas and information on the local history and events of the local Glasgow area. With the Glasgow Harbour becoming a
busy and vibrant area, easy access was allowed with the Glasgow Arc Bridge which looks fantastic and everything in the area now runs a lot smoother. The Glasgow
Arc Bridge, also known locally as the squinty bridge. Beside the Arc is the Bells bridge which crosses over the south side of the River Clyde immediately into
the Glasgow Science Center.
The Glasgow Science centers main objective is to get children and adults more interactive with science. It is an enjoyable and interesting
Glasgow Harbour Tourist attraction. Connected to
the Science center is the Imax Cinema which is a small cinema where most of the films are in 3d. Not forgetting the Glasgow Tower, which at 127ft, is the tallest
tower in Scotland. On the Glasgow Riverside Apartment area we have the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center or the S.E.C.C for short. This is a conference
center that holds European and worldwide conferences and music events, making it one of the
favorite venues in the UK
to hold major events.
Two other interesting tourist attractions are the Glasgow Rotunda which is two round turret buildings on either side of the River Clyde and are joined together with a small walkway which travels underneath the River Clyde. The North Side Rotunda is open and is a fully functional Casino and a high reputation Japanese Restaurant called "JEN". Both the walkway and the South side Rotunda are closed and we are hoping something will be done to revitalize this amazing building which both were used as a vital route to travel to and from south and north of the River Clyde.
One of Glasgow's many features and past History is the Finnieston Crane which heralds the City's industrial & engineering era. This crane is no longer in
operation but has withstood the time elements to become a landmark to Our Glasgow history.
Other local attractions include the Glenlee, which is known as the Tall ship. The Glenlee is one of only 5 Clydebuilt sailing ships that remain afloat in the
world and was restored over a six year period by the Clyde Maritime Trust’s paid and voluntary crew. The Glenlee
is also included on many Glasgow Restaurant guides so it is in your interest to make a reservation in this delightful place. Local to us is the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, Glasgow University
and also the Museum of Transport all of which are about a 15/20 minutes walk from our Glasgow Riverside Apartment.
